Isn't it beautiful?? This is silky merino from Yarn Addict, one skein in Silver for Mum and the other in Last Dance, which is for me :-)
We are both going to make the Taliah Shawl featured in the recent issue of Lets Knit (ravelry users can click the link!), to be honest I'm not sure if I'd ever wear it but I want to make it, so it may become a gift for someone at some point.
I had wonderful service from Anniken who specially dyed the Silver for us and held onto the last of Last Dance until the other was ready... it was certainly worth the wait, both are beautiful and mine is now wound into a cute little ball!
My delegation skills came into play today... as look who is winding the skein into a ball!!!
Yes that is my parents and husband, I have trained them all well.
Ok I was acutally making lunch, which is why the picture is blurred, the smoke alarm went off at that point. Ooops.
The cake part of this post??
I had a relatively early start this morning and made this...
Chocolate fudge cake, the recipe came from one of my Mum's Prima magazines, it is available from the Carnation website here
I must say it is excessively moist and yummy, I have an electric oven and am usually disappointed in my cakes compared to results using gas but this is spot on. I'd really recommend the recipe, it's very easy to do and quick, bonus all round.
Except now I need to start a pre christmas diet!
Right, I'm off to scrap, hope you have a lovely Sunday :-)

I bookmarked it too ...looks so yummy
Gorgeous looking cake. My dad & I used to wind/hold yarn for my Mum all the time when I was a child/teen.
I hope you enjoy knitting the shawl. I got the original sample back the other day and I can't wait to wear it.
Cor Jenny, don't know which to admire most - the yarn, the helpful family or the cake!!
The shawl you MUST wear, it's stunning and such beautiful colours too. I envy anyone who can create things like that :)
The crochet - me too. my wonderful Mother-in-Law (to be) is teaching me. What a sense of achievment at my first square.
The cake, how yummy does that look? Thank you for the link, I'm definitely going to have a go.
